Alkamuls© PSML-20 is a polyethoxylated sorbitan monolaurate with approximately 20 moles of ethylene oxide. It is an emulsifier and co-emulsifier for petroleum oils, fats, solvents and waxes in cosmetics. It can be used as a viscosity modifier in non-irritating shampoos, co-emulsifier in dye carrier formulations and a spin aid for nylon and fines aid for rayon finishing. It has a low order of toxicity and good emulsification characteristics, particularly in combination with high or low HLB surfactants to form W/O or O/W emulsions.
