Introduction
Parquet paste adhesive is a water-based, high-viscosity bonding material used for fixing parquet, wood blocks and engineered flooring onto concrete or cement-based subfloors. It provides strong adhesion, flexibility, and ease of application without solvent emissions.
Steps To Produce Parquet Paste Adhesive
1. Raw Material Preparation
Gather the main ingredients: PVA emulsion, water, fillers (calcium carbonate), thickeners, plasticizers, anti-foaming agents, preservatives and optional performance additives. Ensure all materials are clean, dry and within specification.
2. Initial Water Phase Mixing
Charge the mixing tank with water. Start agitation and slowly add dispersing agents and defoamers. Maintain medium mixing speed until a homogeneous liquid phase is formed.
3. Addition of Fillers
Introduce calcium carbonate gradually to prevent lump formation. Maintain strong mixing to disperse fillers evenly and achieve stable viscosity.
4. Polymer Binder Incorporation
Add the PVA emulsion slowly while mixing. Ensure polymer is fully integrated, creating the main adhesive matrix responsible for bonding strength and flexibility.
5. Addition of Rheology Modifiers
Introduce thickeners (cellulose derivatives or associative thickeners) to reach target viscosity and workability. Adjust as necessary depending on application type.
6. Performance Additives
Add plasticizers for flexibility, preservatives for long-term stability, and optional tackifiers or co-binders for improved adhesion on different surfaces.
7. Homogenization
Continue mixing until the adhesive becomes smooth, lump-free, and stable. Check viscosity, pH, solids content and adhesion quality.
8. Filtration and Packaging
Filter the product to remove impurities and pack in sealed pails or drums to avoid contamination and evaporation.
Summary
Parquet paste adhesive is produced by preparing an aqueous phase, dispersing fillers, incorporating PVA binders, adjusting viscosity with thickeners and adding performance additives. The result is a smooth, high-strength, water-based parquet adhesive suitable for flooring installations.
