Overview

Three component and water based polyurethane adhesive for stone is a high-strength, moisture-resistant bonding system formulated for natural stones, artificial stones, concrete blocks and mineral surfaces. The system typically contains Component A (polyol blend), Component B (isocyanate hardener) and Component C (water-based dispersion & functional additives). When mixed, they form a durable structural adhesive suitable for construction and industrial applications.

Key Features

  • Excellent adhesion to marble, granite, composite stone, ceramic and concrete

  • Water-based and low-VOC formulation

  • High chemical and mechanical resistance

  • Suitable for vertical and horizontal bonding

  • Good workability and controlled curing time

Ingredients (General Composition)

Component A – Polyol Blend

  • Polyester polyol or polyether polyol

  • Chain extenders

  • Fillers (calcium carbonate, silica)

  • Plasticizers (optional)

  • Defoamers

Component B – Isocyanate Hardener

  • MDI-based prepolymer or polymeric MDI

Component C – Waterborne Additives

  • Water-based polyurethane dispersion

  • Thickener / rheology modifier

  • Wetting agents

  • Preservatives

Making Procedure

  1. Prepare Component A

    • Charge polyols into the mixing vessel.

    • Add fillers slowly under agitation.

    • Introduce plasticizers, dispersants and defoamers.

    • Mix until a smooth, homogeneous phase is obtained.

  2. Prepare Component C

    • In a separate vessel, add water-based polyurethane dispersion.

    • Add thickener, wetting agent and preservatives.

    • Adjust viscosity according to the required application method.

  3. Combine Components A and C

    • Slowly add Component C into Component A under medium–high shear.

    • Continue mixing until uniform.

  4. Introduce Component B During Application

    • Add Component B (isocyanate hardener) just before use.

    • Mix thoroughly to initiate chemical crosslinking.

    • Apply onto clean stone surfaces.

  5. Curing

    • Allow adhesive to cure under ambient humidity.

    • Full cure occurs within several hours depending on formulation.

Applications

  • Bonding natural stone panels

  • Installation of stone tiles

  • Repair of cracked or fractured stone

  • Composite stone manufacturing

  • Architectural and construction adhesives

Properties

  • High tensile and shear strength

  • Strong adhesion even on slightly damp surfaces

  • Good chemical resistance

  • Low odor and environmentally friendly

  • Excellent sealing and gap-filling capability

Summary

Three component and water based polyurethane adhesive for stone is a durable, high-performance, environmentally friendly structural bonding system. Its formulation integrates polyols, waterborne polyurethane dispersion and isocyanate hardener to provide strong adhesion, efficient curing, and excellent resistance on stone-based materials. The making procedure involves preparing polyol and waterborne phases separately, combining them, and adding the isocyanate hardener prior to application to activate crosslinking.
