Azoxystrobin Suspension Concentrate (Azoxystrobin SC) is a liquid fungicide formulation in which finely milled particles of the active ingredient Azoxystrobin are dispersed in water with the help of dispersing agents, wetting agents, and stabilizers. This formulation type ensures uniform suspension, high biological stability, and ease of application when diluted with water.

Azoxystrobin is a broad-spectrum, systemic and translaminar fungicide belonging to the strobilurin (QoI) chemical class, known for blocking mitochondrial respiration in fungi by inhibiting electron transport at the Qo site of complex III.

Key Characteristics

  • Formulation type: SC (Suspension Concentrate)

  • Active ingredient: Azoxystrobin (commonly 250 g/L, 200 g/L, or other concentrations)

  • Appearance: Smooth, stable, water-based suspension

  • Mode of action: QoI (Quinone outside inhibitor), FRAC Group 11

  • Movement in plant: Systemic (xylem-mobile), translaminar, vapor-phase redistribution

  • Spectrum: Controls a wide range of fungal pathogens, including ascomycetes, basidiomycetes, oomycetes, and deuteromycetes

Main Properties

  • Broad-spectrum activity against many fungal diseases

  • Preventive and early curative effects

  • Long residual activity due to systemic movement

  • Rainfast after drying

  • Compatible with many tank-mix partners

  • Low phytotoxicity when used as directed

  • Enhanced plant health effect (greening, stress reduction), typical of strobilurins

Applications & Uses

Azoxystrobin SC is used to control a wide range of diseases in:

Field Crops

Vegetable Crops

  • Tomato – early blight, powdery mildew

  • Potato – late blight (as part of a program), early blight

  • Peppers – anthracnose, leaf spot

  • Beans – rust, anthracnose

Fruit Crops

  • Grapes – downy mildew, powdery mildew

  • Apples – scab, alternaria

  • Citrus – black spot, melanose
