Cetrimonium Chloride. Genamin® CTAC 50 ET by Clariant is a cationic surfactant for hair conditioner. It imparts a good softening effect for normal hair. It offers excellent foaming and anti-static effect. It possesses stability over a wide pH range. It can be used in combination with other cationic surfactants to allow special effects with regard to wet and dry combing properties and the feel of the shampooed hair.
It is compatible with protein derivatives, especially in the acid pH range, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants and reacts with anionic surfactants by forming electroneutral salts. It differs from tertiary amines in that the cation persists also in alkaline medium. Genamin® CTAC 50 ET is recommended for hair after-treatment products, hair conditioners, hair lotions, shampoos and styling creams.
