Metribuzin is a selective herbicide used to control broadleaf weeds and some grasses in crops such as potatoes, tomatoes, soybeans, and sugarcane.
It belongs to the triazine chemical class and works by inhibiting photosynthesis, causing the targeted weeds to die while leaving the crop largely unaffected.

  • Mode of action: inhibits photosystem II in weeds

  • Selectivity: targets weeds without significantly affecting tolerant crops
