Overview
Polyester stone adhesive is a fast-curing, high-strength bonding material widely used for natural stone, artificial stone, concrete elements, marble slabs, tiles and construction repairs. It provides strong adhesion, chemical resistance and excellent surface filling capability.
Production Procedure
1. Preparing the Resin Phase
Unsaturated polyester resin is placed into a stainless steel mixing tank. An accelerator (typically cobalt octoate) and wetting additives are added to improve flow and filling behavior.
2. Adding Fillers
Calcium carbonate, silica powder, talc or marble powder are incorporated gradually. Fillers increase viscosity, reduce shrinkage and enhance mechanical strength.
3. Incorporation of Additives
Thixotropic agents, dispersants, anti-settling agents, pigments and stabilizers are mixed until a uniform paste forms.
4. Final Adjustment
Viscosity is checked and corrected according to application type (paste, knife-grade, flowing type). The adhesive is packed without the hardener.
5. Addition of Hardener by the User
Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) is added at the time of use. Polymerization begins immediately and full curing occurs within minutes to hours depending on formulation.

Summary
Polyester stone adhesive is a high-performance bonding system formulated from unsaturated polyester resin, mineral fillers and rheology-control additives. It cures rapidly with BPO, offers strong adhesion to stone surfaces, and is widely used in construction, marble workshops and repair applications. Production involves controlled mixing of resin, fillers and additives to achieve the required viscosity and performance.
