THREE COMPONENT AND WATER BASED POLYURETHANE ADHESIVE FOR CONCRETE

Three component and water based polyurethane adhesive for concrete is a high-strength bonding system designed for structural concrete repair, reinforcement and industrial flooring applications. The three-component structure provides superior mechanical stability, abrasion resistance and chemical durability.

This adhesive is commonly used for concrete-to-concrete bonding, ceramic installation on concrete, repairing cracks, anchoring, and high-load flooring systems.

What It Is

A water-based, environmentally friendly, three-component polyurethane adhesive system containing:

  • Component A: Polyol dispersion

  • Component B: Isocyanate prepolymer

  • Component C: Mineral fillers + performance additives

When combined, they form a tough, flexible, high-bond-strength polymer matrix suitable for various concrete applications.

Meaning & Description

This adhesive is designed to penetrate concrete pores, chemically react within the substrate, and form a durable, waterproof and flexible composite layer.
Being water-based gives it advantages such as:

  • Low VOC emissions

  • Easy cleanup

  • Safer handling

  • Improved workability

Preparation / How to Make

A simplified preparation method:

  1. Premix Component A (polyol dispersion) with fillers, thickeners and defoamers.

  2. Add Component C containing mineral fillers and rheology modifiers.

  3. Just before application, blend A+C with Component B (isocyanate) under low-speed mixing.

  4. Apply the mixture immediately to primed or clean concrete surfaces.

  5. Allow curing under ambient conditions.

Manufacturing Process

  • Component A preparation: dispersion + additives

  • Component C preparation: filler blend

  • Component B supplied separately as isocyanate prepolymer

  • Packaging into 3-component system

  • Final mixing occurs on-site before use

Formula (General Concept)

  • Component A: Polyurethane polyol emulsion, adhesion promoters, dispersing agent

  • Component B: Aliphatic or aromatic isocyanate prepolymer

  • Component C: Calcium carbonate, silica, thickeners, plasticizers
