THREE COMPONENT AND WATER BASED POLYURETHANE ADHESIVE FOR CONCRETE
Three component and water based polyurethane adhesive for concrete is a high-performance bonding system designed for structural applications where strong adhesion, moisture resistance, and flexibility are required. Because the system contains a water-dispersed polyol component, a hardener, and mineral fillers or additives, it delivers excellent penetration, strong film formation, and durable bonding on concrete, cementitious substrates, stones, and construction materials.
This adhesive type is commonly preferred in construction repairs, floor coatings, civil engineering applications, precast bonding, and areas where low VOC and environmentally friendly systems are required.
Meaning & Description
This adhesive is based on a waterborne polyurethane dispersion combined with reactive crosslinkers. When the three components are mixed, a chemical curing reaction begins, forming a tough, abrasion-resistant and water-resistant polymer network.
It adheres very strongly to porous substrates and performs well even on slightly moist concrete surfaces.
Preparation & Making Procedure
To prepare three component and water based polyurethane adhesive for concrete, each component is first produced separately for stability. The polyol component contains waterborne polyurethane dispersion, wetting agents, anti-foam agents, thickeners, fillers and performance boosters.
The second component is typically an isocyanate-based crosslinker dispersed or emulsified for safe and controlled reaction.
The third component often includes reinforcing mineral fillers, rheology modifiers or cementitious extenders.
When mixing before application, all components are combined under slow agitation until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. The mixture is then spread on the concrete substrate and allowed to cure.
