1. Silicone-Based Polishers

These are the most common.

a) Silicone Oil–Based (High Gloss)

  • Thick, oily silicone formula

  • Gives a wet, shiny look

  • Strong water-repellency

  • Can attract dust if over-applied

b) Silicone Emulsion (Satin / Semi-Gloss)

  • Water-based + silicone

  • Less greasy, easier to use

  • Leaves satin or natural gloss

  • Safer for regular interior use

c) Silicone Spray (Lubricant + Shine)

  • Aerosol form

  • Thin, uniform layer

  • Good for rubber seals, tight areas, and plastic trim

  • Moderate shine, high protection

2. Non-Silicone (Matte Finish) Polishers

For those who dislike glossy or slippery surfaces.

a) Water-Based Matte Dressings

  • Zero or minimal silicone

  • Leaves a factory-original matte finish

  • Popular among detailers

  • Doesn’t attract dust

b) Polymer / Acrylic Protectants

  • Uses synthetic polymers rather than silicone

  • More durable

  • Matte-to-satin finish

  • Good UV protection

3. Cleaner + Polisher (All-in-One)

  • Cleans dust, fingerprints, and light dirt

  • Adds a protective layer

  • Can be matte, satin, or glossy depending on formula

  • Good for routine maintenance

4. Gel or “Milk” Type Dressings

  • Thick, milk-like cream

  • Easy to apply without dripping

  • Offers either matte or glossy versions

  • Usually water-based with mild silicone
